Uttara-West police arrested Md Maruf Hasan Pallab (32) and Abdullah Al Mamun Sajib (26) who were involved in the incident of taking the manager Qayyum hostage under the guise of the student coordinator and forcing them to enter the house and recover the looted gold ornaments of several lakhs of rupees. the police

According to Uttara-paschim police station, last Friday (October 18) around 11:30 p.m., unknown 9/10 miscreants took hostage the manager of house number 61, Shah Makhdoom Avenue Road, sector 12 of Uttara-paschim police station, and a person on the 6th floor of the house. BGMEA and Shanta Mariam University students and student coordinator entered the flat of Harunur Rashid Howladar. After the miscreants entered the flat, they opened the DVR of the CCTV camera in the flat and Dr. Harunur Rashid Howladar’s wife Dr. Mumtaz tells Shahanara (Vice Principal of Eden College) that their flat is stocked with illegal weapons and money.
Dr. Harunur Rashid Howladar is 2 times Chairman of Patuakhali Upazila. He is the General Secretary of Central Farmers League and a member of Patuakhali District Awami League. The perpetrators threatened to hand them over to the police and the army. Mumtaz demanded a contribution of 25 lakhs from Shahanara. When he refused to pay the contribution, some of the miscreants started talking to him and the rest looted 83 pieces of gold ornaments and Rs 15 lakh in cash from his bedroom. After looting gold ornaments and money, they took the CCTV camera DVR with them when they left around 2.40 pm.
In this incident, on Sunday, October 20, Dr. Mumtaz Shahanara filed a case against 9/10 unnamed persons in Uttara-paschim police station as the plaintiff.

According to Uttara-Paschim police station sources, after the case was registered, under the guidance of Uttara Division Deputy Police Commissioner Rawonak Jahan, Uttara Division Assistant Police Commissioner Saddam Hossain and Uttara Paschim Police Station Officer-in-Charge conducted the operation with the joint forceBefore this they collected evidence including hand prints through crime scene members of CID and PBI. Uttara-paschim Thana police analyzed the video footage of the CCTV cameras around the incident site and identified those involved in the incident with the help of information technology. After that they arrested them and started a raid to recover the looted goods. Md. Maruf Hasan Pallab, who was involved in the incident, was arrested from Uttara Sector 4 Hotel Paradise in the early hours of Tuesday (October 22). At that time, 14 pieces of gold jewellery, a passport and a motorcycle used in the incident were recovered from his custody.
According to Uttara-Paschim police sources, on Wednesday (October 23), Md Maruf Hasan Pallab, who was arrested, was sent to the learned court, he gave a confessional statement to the court and provided information about the other accused. Based on the information provided by Maruf Hasan Pallab, the police arrested Abdullah Al Mamun Sajib from Uttara Sector 12 at 5:30 pm on Wednesday. During the arrest, looted rupees 1 lakh was recovered from him. During preliminary interrogation, Sajib admitted his involvement in the incident.
When asked about the recovery of the remaining money and the accused, the officer in charge of Uttara West Police Station Hafizur Rahman said that the other accused involved in the incident have been arrested and the operation is continuing to recover the remaining looted goods
