Human chain demanding not to remove UP members before the end of term
Female and male members of various Union Parishads of Sadar Upazila formed a human chain in Thakurgaon demanding to provide public service for the stipulated period without removing the Union Parishad members.
On Sunday (October 20) at noon, they organized this human chain program in front of the Thakurgaon Press Club organized by the Union Parishad Member Welfare Association.
Manjurul Islam, member of Bargaon Union Parishad, Harunur Rashid, member of Auliapur UP, Shahina Akhtar and many others spoke on the occasion.
They said, we have not elected in any party or party symbol. We are elected by the general public. So why should we be removed before our term expires? Our tenure is five years. So that we are not removed before this. So we request the Chief Adviser. And if our demand is not accepted then we will not sit. They warned that they will give everything in life if necessary.
Later, a rally came out from there and went in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and they submitted a memorandum to the Chief Advisor through the Deputy Commissioner
