Like all of Bangladesh, Shariatpur is progressing in the development of social infrastructure. Therefore, each upazila of Shariatpur has an average of 10 brick kilns. About 90 of them do not have renewed license and any kind of certificate. And almost all of them are working with child labor.

Meanwhile, some bricklayers in 2 upazilas including Damudya have to face fines along with notices. Then others do not feel the urge to renew licenses or renew the permits of the department.

Most of the kilns in the upazilas are around the populated areas, or near the market or next to the farmersDue to which the environment and surrounding vegetation are destroyed, the common people of the area are suffering from various skin diseases and respiratory problems.

Observation of brick kilns shows that in Baragopalpur M/s Munshi Bricks, Jaingarh Khan Bricks, Moolna Madbar Bricks, Qazir Hat JIB Bricks and others, child laborers are making bricks for 1000 rupees. .
The values ​​of these bricks are also not correct in size. However, the price is 10,000 to 11,000.

In this regard, the Deputy Director of the Department of Environment, Noman Ahmed, said that we are actively involved in the operationHowever, many have submitted renewal documents, we are investigating them, we hope that with the help of the magistrate, the documents and standards will be examined very soon and necessary steps will be taken

মেয়াদোত্তীর্ণ কাগজ আর শিশুশ্রমিক দিয়ে চলছে ইটভাটা।

সমস্ত বাংলাদেশের ন্যায়, সামাজিক অবকাঠামো উন্নয়নে শরীয়তপুরো এগুচ্ছে।তাই পাল্লা দিয়ে শরীয়তপুরের প্রতিটি উপজেলায় গড়ে ১০টি করে ইটভাটা রয়েছে।যার প্রায় ৯০ ভাগেরি নেই নবায়নকৃত লাইসেন্স ও কোন ধরনের ছারপত্র।আর শিশুশ্রমিক দিয়ে কাজ করানো হচ্ছে প্রায় সবকটিতেই।

এরি মধ্যে ডামুড্যা সহ ২ টি উপজেলার কয়েকটি ইটভাটাকে নোটিশ প্রদানসহ জরিমানার সম্মুখিন হতে হয়েছে।তারপরো অন্যরা লাইসেন্স নবায়নের বা অধিদপ্তরের অনুমতিপত্রগুলো নবায়নের তাগিদ অনুভব করছেন না।

উপজেলাগুলোর বেশিরভাগ ভাটাগুলোই জনবশতিপূর্ন এলাকার আশেপাশে, নয়তো হাটবাজারের সাথে অথবা ফসলিজমির পাশে।যে কারনে পরিবেশসহ আশেপাশের গাছগাছালি নস্ট সহ, বিভিন্ন ধরনের চর্মরোগ ও শ্বাসকস্টের মতো জটিল রোগে পতিত হচ্ছে এলাকার সাধারন মানুষ।

ইটভাটা পর্যবেক্ষনে দেখা যায় বড়গোপালপুর মেসার্স মুন্সি ব্রিকস,জয়নগড় খান ব্রিকস,মূলনা মাদবর ব্রিকস, কাজির হাট জে আই বি ব্রিকস সহ আরো কয়েকটিতে শিশুশ্রমিকরা ইট ছাচে তৈরী করছে ১হাজার ১০০ টাকার বিনিময়ে, কারো বাবা মা ভাটার সর্দার হতে নিয়েছে দাদন যে কারনে তারা আসতে বাধ্য হচ্ছে।
এছারা ইটের মানগুলোও সাইজে যথার্থ সঠিক হয় নি।অথচো দাম ১০হাজার হতে সারে ১১ হাজার টাকায় বিক্রি হচ্ছে।

এ বিষয়ে পরিবেশ অধিদপ্তরের উপপরিচালক নোমান আহমেদ জানান আমরা অভিযান পরিচালনায় সচেস্ট আছি।তবে অনেকেই নবায়নের কাগজপত্র জমা দিয়েছেন,আমরা সেগুলোর তদন্ত করছি,আশা করছি মেজিস্ট্রেট এর সহায়তায় খুব শিগ্রই কাগজপত্র ও মান বিচার করে প্রয়োজনিয় ব্যাবস্থ্যা গ্রহন করা হবে।
